I am an experienced practitioner of Chinese Medicine, using both acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine and with over 15 years in practice.

Chinese Medicine has a long tradition which goes back more than 2,000 years andsince then it has constantly evolved in adapting to changing times. This adaptability is demonstrated by the fact that it still forms a major part of health care provision in China where it is provided in state hospitals alongside western medicine. It has a theoretical basis which is used to discern aspects of balance and imbalance in each individual in terms of the physical body, the emotions and the spirit, and all the branches of Chinese Medicine, including acupuncture and herbal medicine, focus on helping to restore balance.

In addition to undertaking a full training in acupuncture and then in Chinese herbal medicine, I have also trained in the Shen Hammer system of pulse diagnosis - a subtle system which can help identify issues which people have become so used to that they regard them as a normal part of life. Feeling and interpreting the pulse is an important part of assessing the state of balance within each individual person.

I often give acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine alongside one another, or either can be given on its own according to your preference and the issues you come with.

The British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) http://www.acupuncture.org.uk/ was formed in 1995. With around 3,000 members it represents the largest body of professional acupuncturists in the UK and guarantees

• excellence in Training Standards - entry to the profession is at three year undergraduate degree level training;
• Safe Practice - its standards are drawn up in consultation with internationally renowned experts;
• Ethical Behaviour - rules are monitored and enforced with the help of experienced practitioners and independent non-acupuncturists.

The Register of Chinese Herbal Medicine http://www.rchm.co.uk/ was set up in 1987 to regulate the practice of Chinese Herbal Medicine (CHM) in the UK. It represents over 400 fully qualified practitioners of Chinese herbal medicine.
